The "Twisted Splitting Wedge" is designed with a twisted grooved poll & bevelled corners along with a sharpened hardened tip for efficient wood splitting. It has a sharp 1-7/8" cutting edge. As the wedge is driven into the round, the wedge generates a slight torque & pops the round apart. The chevrons forged into the wedge prevent it from getting imbedded in the log. Made of the highest quality Swedish steel available, this wedge is a thing of beauty, yet extremely durable & tough as well! Overall weight of the wedge is 4 lb. & includes a grain leather sheath.Each axe head is hand-forged from special Swedish steel which is then honed, tempered, & annealed to the perfect hardness by the experienced Gränsfors Bruk Swedish smiths who stamp their initials on the head, creating a one-of-a-kind masterpiece you'll treasure for years to come.
