Lawrence Weiner (also known as Lawrence Wiener), born in the Bronx, New York in 1942, began his artistic career in 1960. His early works were earthworks, such as digging several holes in the valleys of the American Midwest. Since the 1965 presentation of Joseph Kosuth's "One and Three Chairs," Weiner chose language as the material for his works within the burgeoning Conceptual Art movement, ceasing his previous activities. In 1969, he released a statement that became the fundamental principle of his subsequent activities. This book is a collection of his poster works created between November 1965 and April 1986, compiled chronologically.
