Sometimes learning requires rote memorization, although repetitive writing drills and lifeless flashcards may leave a student uninspired, to say the least. Nevertheless, repetitive drills can dramatically improve recall and are helpful in memorizing basic rules of addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Once children have demonstrated a conceptual understanding (through manipulation of objects) in each of these four math areas, they can reinforce their knowledge with Math Smart card games.
