Title: "Great Egret"
The lovely and elegant Great Egret is aptly named. Look at that plumage! Back in the day, ladies would use the feathers (and sometimes entire, taxidermied birds) to decorate their hats! It was the decimation of these birds and many others due to the plume trade, that sparked the movement that eventually became the Migratory Bird Treaty Act.
